Mamadou Ba

Mamadou Ba was born in Dakar, Senegal. He is a self-thought bassist who came to prominence while working the group Keurgui that he created with his brother. They toured West Africa and Europe and collaborated with great artists such as the American saxophonist Archie Shepp. He Joined Ismael L™Õs band and toured the world with him. In 1996 he moved to New York. He soon was hired by Harry Belafonte and has been working with him ever since, touring and recording. He has worked with Richard Bona, the Barrio Boys and is a member of the African Blue Note Band.
